As the tide comes in and collides with the churn, it can throw spray several hundred feet into the air. Wahclella Falls - Wahlclella Falls in the Columbia River Gorge has a combined height of approximately 350 feet. Since it is fueled primarily by an underground spring, it's water volume is not dictated by the seasons.
Lightouse Silhouette - Built in 1871, the 93-foot tall Yaquina Head Lighthouse is the tallest in Oregon. It continues to serve as an active aid to navigation, still using its 1868 French-made Fresnel lens.Wahclella Mist - The Wahlclella Falls plunge pool is surrounded by dark gray basalt walls that form a semi-circular rotunda of bright green moss.Rainier from Goat Mountain - If you can tolerate the swarms of mosquitos, the remote summit of Goat Mountain offers a 360 degree panorama of the Pacific Northwest. On a clear day, this perch offers views of four of Washington and Oregon's most spectacular volcanoes: Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, Mount Hood, and Mount Adams.Heceta Head Lighthouse - Heceta Head is named after the Spanish explorer Bruno de Heceta, who explored the Pacific Northwest during the late 18th century. The lighthouse was built in  1892.
